This Partnership Building Activity (=PBA) aims at creating concrete partnerships between North and South of Europe, so that you can develop youth exchange projects and apply under the Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme.

Are you the leader/mentor/coach of a youth group that would like to make an international youth exchange in the near future? Is your group looking for relevant partners that are interested in real cooperation? Do you believe that being involved in a youth exchange could make a difference in the young people’s life? Could an international project make a difference in your local community? Then you fit the profile to participate in Making the Difference: A North-South Partnership Building Activity.

For 4 days, 30 youth workers from the North and South of Europe will meet and get to know each other, and the youth groups you are representing. After a process guided by the trainers/facilitators, you will end up in a duo or group with a concrete plan for an upcoming youth exchange.

The PBA will be organised in a city and a village in Portugal, and this can give you inspiration on how you can organise a quality youth exchange in your local community.

Objectives:

To create an opportunity to find good and reliable partners to organise youth exchanges with
To understand what is needed to plan a youth exchange of good quality.
To create solid networks of contacts and partnerships.
To equip the youth workers with insight in their role as coach and support.
To experience the possibilities of local involvement.
To understand the impact and social change a youth exchange can have within the local community.
Target group:

Youth workers who represent a youth group with the age range 15-20 years old
Youth workers who already have a defined youth group that they can include inthe planning
Both ‘newcomers’ and ‘experienced’ in the Erasmus+ YiA Program
Expected outcome:

You should leave the PBA with partners and ideas to apply for a project under the Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme, and an action plan on how to get there.

Practicalities:

Participants will be accomodated in a hotel where you will share room with another person of the same gender. All meals and activities will be covered by the organisers.
