EVS Trainers’ Forum 2018

The EVS Trainers’ Forum aims to collect, explore and harvest the quality developments within the EVS Training and Evaluation Cycle (TEC) and to recognise how this heritage can contribute to the future volunteering activities.

The EVS Trainers’ Forum is the follow up of the ones realised in Italy in 2011 and in Switzerland in 2014.
These Forums were very successful in create connections among EVS trainers as EVS pool of trainers active in the Programme and allow to compare training methods as experiences with the EVS Volunteers.

This year the EVS Trainers’ Forum will have a main aim to collect, explore and harvest the quality developments within the EVS Training and Evaluation Cycle and to recognise how this heritage can contribute to the future volunteering activities (Erasmus + /European Solidarity Corps).
The Forum will be hosted by the Italian National Agency of Erasmus + Programme in cooperation with Salto-Youth EuroMed, Salto-Youth EECA and Salto Training and cooperation.

The Forum in this sense will have as specific objectives:

– Exploring and discussing volunteers learning needs taking into account their motivation and the changes happened in the programme;

-Exploring and discussing how “Learning centre focused approach” is used in trainings;

– Identifying role and specific competencies of trainers working in EVS training and evaluation cycle;

-Discussing different understandings and practice of quality standards in Training cycle (European dimension, Crisis management and prevention, support to learning process and Youthpass, service and solidarity dimension etc);

-Reflecting on how the future programmes can benefit from EVS training cycle experience;

-Sharing and mapping methods, attitudes, approaches used in the different EVS training cycles;

-Encouraging a learning community of trainers active in training and evaluation cycle.

During the Forum there will be tackled the following topics:

– Different structures/models of training cycles in the involved countries;
– Updates about ECS;
-Roles, values and competencies of trainers 
-Volunteers learning needs and how as trainers answers those needs;
– How trainers can support each other in professional development/learning community;
– Learning tools and developments that can create and implementing Evs.

The Forum will be the occasion for starting a process of reseach about the quality of the TEC and will be follow up by a publication.

The target group that will be invited to apply to the training course is very specific on EVS trainers’ activity involved in EVS training cycle in programme and neighbouring partner countries and EVS project officers especially those following the Evs training cycle in programme and neighbouring partner countries.

The Forum will require some preparation beforehand and the fully participation.
