The overall course will gather 24 participants (4 representatives from each partner organisation) from Czech Republic (Be International), Slovakia (Clovek v ohrozeni), Poland (Instytut Wschodnich Inicjatyw), Hungary (Lehet Mas a Jovo), Denmark (Dansk ICYE) and France (Inform’ART).

Europe is facing challenges. People are fleeing their homes, trying to escape wars and poverty. Nationalism and walls are rising in Europe. These challenges affect our youth work and pop-up in classrooms, during workshops, in free-time activities. How could youth workers react to these issues? Training course Everybody Welcome deals with these challenges and turns them into learning opportunities.

Everybody Welcome sets following objectives:

– to give space to youth leaders and youth workers who are conscious of new challenges
– connected to migration and islam to reflect on their experience, react and give value to their role as pro-diversity educators.
– to use non-violent communication techniques, apply critical thinking and media literacy in youth work
– to collect activities of best practice and meet experienced educators
– to discuss migration and islam with experts to encourage participants to develop their own pro-diversity activities
– to prepare a handbook on education about migration and youth work in Europe
– to support participants in conducting their own pro-diversity activities in local communities after the training course

Participants should be over 20 years old and there is no upper limit.
– 2 or 3 out of four participants per sending organisation are active youth workers or youth leaders in their sending organizations who have been active in migration-themed activities or conscious about changing the rising intolerance against Muslims in Europe. These participants should be ready to organise their own pro-diversity activities in their communities where they can make change and willing to implement projects which would foster tolerance.
– Identification of other 1 or 2 participants is based on inclusive criteria. Preferably they should represent members of Muslim communities and should feel ready to contribute to pro-diversity activities and tackling discrimination.
– Participants should have good command of English, and be willing and committed to work hard
– Gender balance should be taken into account while selecting participants.
