Refugees in Europe: Educational Approaches to deal with Causes of Flights, Antiracism and Opportunities of Inclusion

Our ten-day-training about “Refugees in Europe: Educational approaches to deal with causes of flights, anti-racism and opportunities of inclusion” will take place in Berlin from 03.02.-12.02.2018.

Our ten-day-training about “Refugees in Europe: Educational approaches to deal with causes of flights, anti-racism and opportunities of inclusion” will take place in Berlin from 03.02.-12.02.2018.
We expect trainees from Finland, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Romania, the Netherlands and Greece who work with youth and young adults. Moreover, our specific goal is to involve youth workers who have own migration and/or refugee experience and trainees with fewer opportunities due to economical, social and cultural obstacles.

The participants will learn, try out, discuss and evaluate a large variety of non-formal pedagogical approaches to deal with (causes of) flights, inclusion, anti-racist education, stereotypes, conflict management and trans-cultural communication. The training involves activities such as doing excursions and guided tours, work with creative and artistic methods and sharing knowledge and experiences.

The activities in the program have the common factor of qualifying the trainees within the context of intercultural learning and stimulating them to develop and adopt new skills concerning the topics of flights and inclusion of refugees. The training promotes pedagogical approaches in dealing with challenges and opportunities in multicultural and pluralistic societies and empowers the participants to work on reflective competences and tools for social change. Thus the participants will be able to use their newly acquired expertise in their work with youth and young adults and share and multiply what they have learned with fellow youth workers

The language of communication during the training will be in English.
