Star of Europe

“The Star of Europe” training course tackles every phase of a youth exchange project and takes a step by step journey through youth participation and partnership by using visual material from the old Finnish game called “The Star of Africa”.

Description

In “The Star of Europe” training module, the journey goes through Europe by searching of diamonds (important elements, principles) in youth exchange projects. We have created methods that help to understand the quality elements of youth exchange projects such as youth participation, equal partnership and learning design. There are reminders about the programme rules, good practices and pitfalls at every phase of the programme.

The aim of “The Star of Europe” is to get a comprehensive understanding of what a youth exchange project contains – from the idea, needs assessment of a project to the follow up activities.

More specifically, the main objectives are:

1) to understand the the whole logic of lifecycle of a youth exchange project;
2) to focus on participation and learning opportunities of the young people;
3) to pay extra attention to the equal partnership and encourage partners to plan, prepare, implement and report the project together
