Choose your future:

Between 23-26 May 2019, European citizens will be invited to vote in all EU Member States.

The European Parliament is the only EU institution in which members are directly elected by citizens. And it matters. The EP passes laws for our protection and budgets on our behalf. It represents us abroad and acts on our petitions.

The European Parliament can hugely impact the economic, social and cultural choices made on the future of Europe.

Who can take part

  • you have to be at least 18 years old (17 in Greece, 16 in Austria and Malta)
  • you have to be a citizen of one of EU Member States

How to take part

  • if voting in your home country, you will automatically be listed in the electoral roll – just show up and cast your vote at a polling place
  • if voting abroad, you will vote by post or at an embassy/consulate – almost all Member States allow the possibility although some require voters to pre-register with their national electoral authorities
