Description

The annual One Young World Summit brings together the most valuable young talent from global and national companies, NGOs, universities and other forward-thinking organisations. Delegates to the Summit meet and make lasting connections with peers from almost every industry, sector and country. No youth led movement outside the Olympic Games represents as many nationalities as the One Young World Summit.

During the Summit delegates debate, formulate and share innovative solutions for the pressing issues the world faces. They will hear and be heard by world leaders acting as the One Young World Counsellors. Past Counsellors include Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Bob Geldof, Kofi Annan, Sir Richard Branson, Professor Muhammad Yunus, Mary Robinson, Jack Dorsey and Arianna Huffington.

If you are a leader aged 18 – 30 with a passion for global issues and a track record of making a significant impact in your community, country or organisation then you could be part of this year’s One Young World delegation.

One Young World is an UK-based not-for-profit organization  that gathers together the brightest young people from around the world, empowering them to make lasting connections to create positive change. All Bar None is an initiative designed to ensure that outstanding young people from every country in the world are represented at the One Young World Summit 2015.  There will be 120 countries that have been less well represented at previous One Young World Summits. To participate you have to meet following criteria:

  • Are you aged 18-30?
  • Are you a national of one of the 120 countries listed here?

Since 2009, One Young World has partnered with more than 500 of the world’s leading organisations, many of which are listed by Fortune 500 or FTSE 100. Partners include AB InBev, Barclays, Coca-Cola, Deloitte, Ernst and Young, Facebook, Google, Janssen, Telefonica, Unilever, Volkswagen, OFID and Westpac.

For many of these organisations, sending delegates to the annual Summit has become an integral part of their leadership development, human resources and sustainability programmes.

In November 2015, 1,300 young people from almost every industry, sector and country will descend on Bangkok for the first One Young World Summit in Asia.

The Summit in Bangkok is the ideal opportunity for young minds to learn about new Asian business hubs and developing markets. 2015 will see the launch of the ASEAN economic community – a new development in regions cooperation with Thailand at its heart.

The themes of the 2015 Summit will reflect its location and delegates will discuss developing markets as well as drug and human trafficking, labour rights and female empowerment in different cultures.

One Young World partnerships begin with championing a delegation to attend a Summit (per delegate fee £2,750). Delegates can be employees of partners or other impactful young people from outside the organisations.

We welcome the partnership of companies, universities, government departments, NGOs associations and individual philanthropists. Just as no two organisations are identical no one partnership with One Young World is the same and a wide range of packages are available to meet the needs of our supporters and provide the best possible experience for their delegates. If you are interested in learning more about how to partner with One Young World please download our 2015 Summit brochure or get in touch with a member of the partnerships team at partnerships@oneyoungworld.com.

At the annual Summit, the most valuable young talent from global and national companies, NGOs, universities and other forward thinking organisations are joined by world leaders, invited as One Young World Counsellors.

Counsellors Lend stature in support of delegates and One Young World’s mission to raise awareness of issues affecting young people globally.

Delegates are young people aged 18-30 years old who have demonstrated leadership ability and a commitment to effecting positive change. Many have already had an impact in their home countries on a range of issues, including the role of business in society, transparency in business and government, the impact of climate change, global health and hunger relief.
Ambassadors have attended a previous Summit and are part of the global One Young World Ambassador network.
