NEUROSTORY connect young people from different countries and is a host a space where they can practice storytelling and media literacy skills. In 9 days we are co-creating a story lab, where we can deconstruct stories, craft them, express them, share them, play with them and pass them on.
We explore the hearts of the stories
The stories around us
The stories we live in
How words transform our experiences
How are stories forming and influencing human minds
How do we break free from the stories that put us under a spell
How do stories give us a shape the stories of our cultures and places of our people
How to tell the great stories of our hearts
Day 1 Meeting
We arrive from different countries. Each of us carries stories, dreams, longings…
What is opening for us on this first day?
Meeting a new person is like meeting a whole new world to explore. And each story invites us to dive into its layers.
On Day 1 we are creating together the space to explore our authentic beings. To discover our voices under the layers of stories and influences.
Day 2 Connection
Connecting to ourselves, to the people around us, to the stories that live inside of us…
What is 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 for me?
When the connection is there, we can empathize, see different perspectives, and accept other points of view.
Day 2 was all about discovering the stories that we can create with and through connection.
Day 3 Authenticity
Today we are asking:
🌳 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐦 𝐈❓
Who am I beyond what other people see in me? Who am I beyond my culture, language, family? Who am I if I turn off the volume of all the should-s and all the expectations?
🌳 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐲 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲❓
We are exploring how we construct the stories that we tell for ourselves. We learn to write and re-write the story of our lives, dreams, belonging.
We share with each other the most significant moments that transformed us and our big dreams.
Day 4 Play
Today we play! We let our creativity guide us!
Learning can be fun! 😜
We have started the day with a crazy game for getting our energy high, facilitated by Nikos. And Nikos is not joking when it comes to movement 😃
Later we were working on our voice together with Scarlett. She facilitated a group singing, where we could experience tuning in the rhythm of the group.
The rest of the day was in the hands of the group leaders, who prepared inspiring workshops. We were learning while playing and connecting.
Day 5 Challenge
I have my own dream.
Every day I make choices and take action towards that dream.
It is up to me to decide how much I want to challenge myself.
How much am I willing to step out of what is known and easy?
How much am I willing to learn?
Today the 5 group leaders are hosting workshops where we could learn about communication, intuition, movement, and creativity.
With each step, with each movement, with each choice… I am coming closer to my dream.
Day 6 Giving and Taking
The secret to a healthy relationship (with friends, family or significant other) is in the balance between giving and taking.
Being able to give is being able to open your heart and share the treasures that you carry.
Being able to take is making yourself vulnerable to be seen by the other.
No relationship can be based only on giving or only on taking.
Today we practice the exchange as a way to strive for balance. Each one of us is creating an experience to give. A game, a story, a dance, a recipe for the perfect pizza.
What do we hold dear to our hearts, what are our talents and passions? From this well of abundance, we give to others.
Day 7 Reaching out
After 6 days of workshops, exchanges, crafting stories and performances, today we take a step forward.
We go outside and reach out to the big world out there. We collect inspiration, meet local people and collect their stories.
The world outside is full of wonders and we practice seeing even the ordinary things as sources of creativity and wisdom.
Day 8 Dare to Share
Today we share our experiences from the day outside. We shape them into stories.
We prepare for a night of storytelling in the Cinema hall here.
Some of us are preparing theatrical performances, other – quiz shows, and third – songs. There are even some of us who are sharing stories through food.
There are a million ways to share a story! Which one is yours?
We organize the event all by ourselves. From the posters and the invitations to the coordination and facilitation, and each and every performance.
Learning happens by actually doing it!
Day 9 Letting in
Life is what you make out of it!
We look around and everywhere in the room we see prints of what we have created those days.
The covers of the stories we have been sharing, the envelopes for messages, the mailbox, the objects we created from papers, and our drawings. There is the memory of the videos, the performances, and the workshops we have designed for each other.
No one gave us the idea to do them. We did!
It took an idea and a bold step forward to make all this happen!
Life is what I make out of it! With a crazy idea and a bold action, I create reality.
