Let’s Create ART Together
“Let’s Create ART Together” TC is devoted to equipping youth workers and leaders with knowledge and competences on participatory community art methods.
The lack of motivation of young people to be involved in community development is one of the ongoing challenges of contemporary Europe. Especially passive participation of youth in social and civic life of community is observed in rural and deprived areas. It is becoming of essential importance to integrate rural areas in society and promote active citizenship of its residents.
Development of stronger communities is highly interlinked with an increase of active participation and inclusion of young people in their community life. In this sense there is a constant need for innovative methods, which would ease the process of youth’s involvement and also give them an inspiring environment to develop their potential. There are several methods to increase the role of youth in social life of community. And the one proved to be successful in this sphere is participatory community art method.
Community art activities allow participants to engage with art in a unique way and experience different forms of artwork, that also reflect the needs of current community. Community art brings together all collective ideas and initiatives through creative and artistic actions fostering positive change in the society.
Participation and active involvement of all community members in the creation process is an essential element of success and development. Each member is included in the process with the forms of art expression they feel comfortable and competent. Community art is different from public and urban art with its participatory and social change components.
Despite the usefulness and potential described above, participatory community art methods are not very wide spread and far away of being in the standard tool box of youth workers. This field is still underdeveloped especially in the EECA region and it would be therefore highly beneficial to educate multipliers in this field.
The proposed TC “Let’s Create ART Together” therefore wants to gather 27 youth workers and youth leaders from program and EECA partner countries to explore the potential of community art methods in (international) youth work.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing in response to the notice I saw on the facebook. I represent the Sztukater Association from Poland. :) We are interested in Your project.
Below I present information about the association:
Sztukater’s main goals are promotion of arts and culture, organizing educational and cultural events, propagation of cultural, ethnic and sexual diversity, building ecological awareness, advocating human rights, and prevention of social exclusion.
Our association includes methodologists, school teachers, and people responsible for externally funded projects (e.g. the European Social Fund, Deutsch-Polnisches Jugendwerk, Youth in Action, Erasmus+). It is their experience that helps us realize our statute.
Through art and culture, Sztukater association bridges new technologies with those who need them, and improves the quality of life of people vulnerable to being excluded by society. Through us, local communities learn about the possibilities of involving themselves in art and culture, as well as the resources such commitment requires. We take on and give publicity to issues that other, official bodies have kept in the background. We want to make it common knowledge that it’s everyone’s right to access art and culture, and that they are not restricted to only selected elites.
Sztukater organizes various social campaigns and projects. Moreover, we aid educational istitutions, promote book authors, organize youth competitions, and cultural contests. The association cooperates with local cultural and educational institutions. We run a website based around art and culture to help battle loneliness in the web.
The Association carried workshop classes in the field of tolerant and culture. We work with orphanages, schools, institutions socially excluded. We see a lot of different behaviours and we’re sure, that we must show everybody that the all of people are in the same positions. In this year our organizations helps a young people from Ukraine. They’re looking for a job in Poland, but they learn about our culture, traditions and religions too. Also we deal with homelessness and professional activation of homeless people. We run social campaigns, consultations on protection during mass events, advice in the field of legal education, mobbing, molestation.
The Association actively participates in international projects, since year 2014 Sztukater Association has been a partner in around 30 realized projects.
Our PIC code: 945839338.
I am waiting for message from You and for detailed information about the project.
Greetings from Poland,
Tomasz Szmich
President of the Association
