Perspektywy Women in tech summit

WARSAW AS HUB FOR FEMALE TALENTS IN IT AND TECH

The technologies are the area where visions of the future world are created and today’s issues are solved. In the times of global digitisation, the IT technologies have a special role to play. The ambition of the “Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit” is to show the potential of women in IT and Big Engineering. This will be the first such event in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEE&CA) addressed to female IT students, professionals from the tech companies, scientists, and innovators. A record number of 1000 participants is expected to come from Poland and the EU, as well as from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. The Warsaw event will become the nucleus of the discussion about the technological and social future of the world and about women’s contribution to the development of these areas.

The goal of the Perspektywy Summit is to create the space for meeting the female technology talents from the CEE&CA region, which is developing dynamically from the IT and new technologies point of view, as well as to promote Poland as the place to obtain excellent IT education. The participants will have the opportunity to listen to speeches by the managers of the biggest global technology companies, to update their scientific and technical knowledge, and to gain the tools for development of their own professional careers. A technology career fair will be held for students, with offers from the top technology companies which place special emphasis on supporting and employing women, as they see the business and social advantages to be gained in building a diversity culture in their organisations. Universities and IT faculties will be able to present their achievements and establish contacts with high tech businesses.

The Special Guest of the event will be Mariya Gabriel, the EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society.

100 speakers in total will appear in Warsaw on 27-28 November, there will be 100 plenary sessions and workshops, as well as several side events, including a debate on IT competencies in the future job market, a meeting of European and Asian female rectors (EWORA), and welcome events for the participants organised by the world’s biggest technology companies.

“Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit Warsaw 2018” is organised by the Perspektywy Educational Foundation in partnership with IEEE – the world’s biggest engineering association, and with technology companies.
